My crew "forthelovers" participated in a coat drive this past fall at the Poet's Den in NYC. The week of this event, I found out I was officially signing a distribution deal with Elique, who is receiving funding from Falu Enterprises/eOne Entertainment. As a result, my brother Haz suggested I come out and we celebrate this accomplishment by giving back. Even though I brought an old, lightly worn North Face coat with me and some snacks at the venue, I feel like I walked away from the event with more then I gave. I walked away, inspired uplifted and encouraged by the words of Amir Sulaiman. Below are some photos from our celebration. I also included a link to one of Amir's poems I recorded on my iPhone, that moved me titled "How Beautiful."
